We recently celebrated our five-year anniversary! Many startups tend to go through some rough patches in the first few years and many don’t make it far at all. In fact, according to this article, the failure rate of all U.S. startups after five years is over 50%. Needless to say, we are thankful to be in business and even more, to be thriving at this 5-year mark in our journey. We aren’t just surviving; we’re thriving! We look forward to our sixth year with incredible optimism, an extremely talented team of technology professionals, and an incredible roster of clients who will attest to their own Resulting Client Experience.
We Have Many Reasons To Celebrate
As with any anniversary, we look fondly back on a number of accomplishments from the past years, especially the last one. We are proud to have received both awards and recognition for our growth, services, and success. These are the major awards and recognition we received in 2017:
In April, the CIOReview recognized us for our service to the Life Science technology community and named us one of the “20 Most Promising Biotech Technology Solution Providers in 2017.” We achieved this recognition by exhibiting extensive business process knowledge along with in-depth, integrated, and innovative strategies.
In May, we were named the number 6 in the Boston Business Journal (BBJ) Fast 50 List, which is a list of the fastest-growing private companies in Massachusetts. Steve Mersky, President and Co-Founder, said, “we are honored to be recognized by the BBJ and to be included on a list so full of stellar companies.” We were selected and ranked based on a formula that counts revenue growth in the preceding three years. Driven by the Resulting Client Experience mentioned earlier, we have become a trusted partner for companies of all sizes and seek to maximize the return on their technology investment, which fueled a 3-year revenue growth of 1,112%.
Then in August, we were named #388 in Inc5000’s list of America’s fastest-growing private companies. It’s our company’s growth and trusted client relationships and our mission to give businesses the client experience they deserve when it comes to maximizing their investment in enterprise technology that earned us these recognitions.
Additionally, these recognitions tell us that the work we’re doing has struck a chord on a local and national level. They give us a sense of confirmation, but most importantly, a heightened sense of responsibility to all of the clients, colleagues, and partners who have been and will be a part of our continued journey.
We Are A Business Of Impact
Our own updates have been picked up by several news sources in the last few years. We hope to continue to share our work and business mission with our network and beyond. We don’t just want to be known in our community; we want to give back and impact it for the better! That’s why we’ve made it an integral part of our culture to support local nonprofits. If you know us at all, you’ve probably heard about those organizations and how they are connected to our history and beloved community. We have many great memories in our 5 years of helping with their fundraisers, serving on their board, hosting a backpack drive, and –one of our favorites– playing music alongside the kids of Pathways for Children!
These organizations are very near and dear to our hearts. They are also significant contributors to Cape Ann’s community and culture. This will always be important to us at Hawkins Point. We believe it directly impacts who we are and the success we see as a business!
We Value Our People And Our Team
We treasure our colleagues and continually nurture these relationships. We do this through our synergistic approach, which ensures that each employee will not only perform with excellence, but also ensures that the career opportunity is in line with their personal vision, strength, and goals. Further, we continually build trust and respect with talent in the industry who may one day become future colleagues. Our mission is to create a win-win on every hire with longevity and stability being our number one consideration.
As an organization, the changes in our leadership team are a reflection of our culture. We could not be happier with our current team of leaders who stand alongside our founders. Our Business Development team is now lead by Joe Robichaud, who recently joined us as a trusted colleague and energetic leader.
Yvonne Gonsalo is our Director of Operations and helps keep our business running efficiently. Yvonne always shows her sincere and healthy regard for both the employees with whom she works and the leadership team she is committed to supporting.
Ron Welter, who has shared in our journey for over four years, was recently promoted to Vice President, Life Sciences Services. Ron’s commitment to superior solution delivery within this space has enabled our firm to strengthen our brand and expand our capabilities.
We are also so thankful for our talented pool of technology professionals who go out and deliver for our clients. And we are thankful for our amazing clients. As you can gather from this blog, 2017 was a record-breaking year for us in many ways. Stick with us in 2018 to see how else we impact the greater Boston area and the business world. As we celebrate this milestone year, we hope you’ll celebrate with us!
